Our Background
In early 2008, a group of approximately 20 elders from Motor City Area SDA Churches met to discuss several areas of common concerns affecting our local congregations. These concerns included; a lack of spirituality and reverence for the sanctuary, lack of evangelistic thrust in our communities, and a lack of member nurturing and growth. Many elders expressed a need for a greater role in assisting the pastoral leadership in evangelistic efforts as well as nurturing our members. Believing that, “in the multitude of counselors there is safety (and wisdom),” the Motor City Elder’s Council (MCEC) was formed.

Meetings
Regular MCEC meetings are held the third Sabbath of each month, usually in the afternoon between 4:00 to 6:00 pm. The location of the meetings are announce one week in advance.
